Really? Another family event?
The whole reason I started this site is because I needed to be available to my children. I mean, I needed to be home with them. When the triplets were born, their shaky health caused our family to make many life altering changes. Staying home and changing careers was just the beginning. It didn’t take long before I realized how lucky I was. That was a good thing since there were so many hard days! Soon, home also became my office. In fact, it became the office for my special needs children as well. At home, all of us had to work. The babies worked in specialized therapies and I worked on the phone and computer. Sometimes we just needed to get out! Getting away from home and enjoying and evening out as a family made being home all the time much easier. That’s why we rarely missed a Feld Entertainment event. Yet, I had never been to a Nuclear Cowboyz™ show. That’s all about to change, too.
The kids are I’m so excited!

The 2014 Nuclear Cowboyz tour also welcomes the return of the alluring Nuclear Cowgirlz dancers and a team of acrobatic masters.
Not only will fans of all ages get treated to unforgettable performances, but at every Nuclear Cowboyz show, audiences will have the opportunity to meet the riders and cast prior to the show during the Nuclear Cowboyz Fallout Zone℠ and at a post show autograph session.
The Making Of Nuclear Cowboyz
From the transformation of an arena to the Nuclear Cowboyz playground, to the delicate multi-step process behind the show’s creation, teams begin strategizing more than a year prior to the tour launch. Creative minds come together to lay the groundwork for a new storyline, action cues and scenic design. Teams will also ensure that the show’s soundtrack is thoughtfully mixed for each scene to blend the energy with the story. Additionally, creative teams work together on selecting new pyrotechnics, laser effects, and more.
At each tour stop, once the semi-trucks arrive and the set is unloaded, crews begin the building process by laying turf over the venue floor. As the floor is laid, crews start assembling the set, installing sound and lighting equipment as well as laser and pyrotechnic devices. No two venues are alike, so crews must invest a lot of time measuring distances for ramp placements to guarantee the safety of all the Nuclear Cowboyz cast. A few key statistics include:
- 30,000 plus hours are spent constructing the scenic environment for the tour. The Nuclear Cowboyz key performance configuration consists of 10 ramps; seven take off ramps, three landing ramps and multiple platforms for the trials riders and acrobatics.
- 11 semi-trucks are needed to haul in the show’s scenic environment, bikes and equipment. In most cases, crews begin the load-in process one day before the show and work for 14 hours to get prepared for the show
- Nearly 65 people are required to load in the entire show including: floor surface, lighting, sound, pyrotechnics, set embellishments and ramps.
- More than 20,000 feet of turf are used to cover the venue floor to accommodate the set
- Nuclear Cowboyz hosts the largest arena-based pyrotechnics shows in the world. There are more than 1000 custom pyrotechnic elements in the production, which are synchronized with music, laser and show lighting.
- Nuclear Cowboyz consists of 29 cast members including, FMX riders, quad riders, trials riders, Shaolin Martial Artists, dancers and acrobats.
