Now let’s show you this Italian Turnover & Tortilla Chips Recipe
Mix in 2 Cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Whisk the dry ingredients together.
Mix in 1 teaspoon of oil, 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of Swanson® Chicken Broth. Knead the dough. It will be sticky.
This will make 7 turnovers. Lightly flour your working surface and roll out 1/7 of your dough. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Use a round bowl to cut out your turnover dough.
Set excess aside with the rest of your dough.
Spoon on your favorite Prego® Italian Sauce, the perfect balance of sweet and savory Italian flavor, and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
Add on your favorite Italian lunchmeat. We used one slice of bologna, one slice of ham, and one slice of salame.
Fold in half and use a fork to press the outer edges together, all the way around the open area until the turnover is completely sealed.
Bake in the oven for about 16-20 minutes. Outside should be slightly golden.
Serve with a side of SpaghettiOs®, the homemade tortialla chips (recipe below) and Pace® Picante Sauce!
Homemade Tortilla Chips Recipe
Use your favorite cookie press to cut circles out of your favorite tortillas. A regular sized tortilla should allow four circle cuts. Don’t be afraid to stack the tortillas to save time. A good cookie press will cut right through! Check out why I love my cookie press so much, and not just for pressing cookies, in this popular 7Th Minion Dessert Recipe.
Deep Fry toritallas circles until crisp, about 15 minutes. Serve with a side of Pace® Picante Sauce, made with handpicked vegetables and bursting with genuine southwest flavor!
Enrique thinks I’m “the best mom in the world!” I hope he’ll always be so easy to please.
